Learning Collaboration Studio
In the Learning Collaboration Studio (LCS), you have the freedom to configure a learning environment with the layout and technology you need to experiment with new educational styles. Located in room 060 of the Science and Engineering Library, the LCS works in partnership with the Digital Union to promote innovative teaching.
The LCS allows you to:
Reconfigure
Furniture in the LCS is not bolted down. All tables and chairs are on wheels making them easy to move into the configuration that you need. Computers in the LCS are laptops, which can be used anywhere in the room, and can run either Windows Vista or Mac OS X.
Collaborate
Call upon any participant to bring their laptop up to the podium to display their work to the entire room while displaying the podium computer on the other screen. Show a videoconference participant on the plasma screen. Use the two whiteboard walls or four moveable whiteboards for collaborative notetaking and brainstorming activities.
Connect
Bring in a guest speaker from another location using videoconferencing, or teach in two or more places at once.
